Organizational Development - The Nebraska Housing Developers Association works with its members to increase their capacity to develop affordable housing and to effectively manage their organizations. Staff and Board members grow their skills and improve their performance through planning and training opportunities offered by the Association. The Association developed its Standards of Excellence to serve as a guide for operating an effectively-managed organization. These Standards include assessment forms that aid staff, board members and partners to continually evaluate organizational performance. New on-line training tools have been developed to assist member organizations to increase their capacity and are linked to the Standards of Excellence assessments.
Information Network –Association staff respond to hundreds of requests for technical assistance each year, ranging from simple queries about housing resources to assisting with grant writing and project development. The Association provides web-based resources and an on-line direct service request form. Association staff also serve as liaisons to numerous groups including the Nebraska Commission on Housing and Homelessness, the Midwest Housing Development Fund, the Nebraska RentWise© Coalition - tenant education delivery system, and the Nebraska REALTORS® Association Equal Opportunity Committee, and the Readiness Education Awareness Collaborative for Homebuyers (REACH) - statewide homebuyer education delivery system.
