Lincoln, NE-- The Nebraska Housing Developers Association (NHDA) has selected Courtney Lyons as its new executive director. Lyons succeeds Matthew Cavanaugh, who transitioned to become executive director of Holy Name Housing Corporation in Omaha.
Lyons joins NHDA with several years of experience in state government and nonprofit administration. Most recently, she worked as the legislative aide for a Nebraska state senator, where she got the opportunity to work on statewide housing legislation and landlord and tenant issues.
“I am thrilled to get the chance to continue statewide efforts to ensure Nebraskans have access to quality housing they can afford,” said Lyons. “I appreciate the board’s confidence and can’t wait to start working with our member organizations across the state. I look forward to building on the excellent past work of the board and staff to champion affordable housing development for our members.”
Established in 1996, the Nebraska Housing Developers Association is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that boasts a membership of over 80 organizations working to strengthen the state’s economic vitality by making safe, affordable housing available to all Nebraskans.
