Awareness & Policy Work

Nebraska Housing Developers Association works to build a coalition of informed, active proponents of affordable housing who seek and promote opportunities in all of Nebraska’s communities. Working together, we can provide accurate and timely information to decision-makers so that they can join us to further the goal of making quality, affordable housing available to all Nebraskans.

Public Policy – The Association serves as a voice in the policy-making arena. It furthers its policy work through service to, and/or affiliations with, the following groups: National Low Income Housing Coalition, the Nebraska Commission on Housing & Homelessness – Policy and Issues Committee, and the Association's Policy Committee. The Association supports the continued growth of the Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund (NAHTF). NAHTF was created by the 1996 Nebraska Affordable Housing Act with the purpose of enhancing the economic development of the State and contributing to the general prosperity of Nebraska's citizens through the provision of safe, decent and affordable housing.  For economic impact data on projects completed from 1998 to current visit "Take Action" under the Policy tab.

Nebraska Housing Developers Association Top Policy Priority

  1. Restore and/or increase funding to support the Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund.

“The Nebraska Housing Developers Association has really embraced advocacy as an important service. They speak more globally than any one organization. What they are saying represents a more universal voice.”
